Hi all,

I saw one of those on the street in Copenhagen in '95 and could not believe just how butt ugly it was. The French reviews of that car called it a 'sad frog' for looks. How true.

The previous car had style, the succeeding model only had four wheels and ugly written all over it. Ford certainly know how to do well but they also know how to screw up. That car was almost as ugly as an updated Edsel, almost..

It is a shame that all they show it the post 1991 UK version. Which is ugly as sin.

Yep, I think getting close to the time time where I switch my Scorpio to Classic tags.

And I must ask...when will Wheeler Dealers do an episode on the Scorpio?

Hi all,

I look in fleabay UK from time to time and a 24v Scorpio engine was for sale in there this week. Cosworth anyone? With most states that could be installed and used, I believe. Not CA or NY, I guess.

Yeah, all you have to do is get it over here. Maybe you can fly over there and pick it up. Put the block in the overhead and slide the heads under your seat. I can see it now "Uh stewardess? Can you give me a hand with this duffle bag? Get that other stewardess over here also...Ready? One..two..heave!"

TSA folks are liable to give you trouble at the X-Rays, but heck , nothing states you can't put hunks of iron in your luggage.

Still believe the early SHO Yamaha motor is a more obtainable 24v swap.

Tell the stewardess it is your emotional support engine and without it you can't get onto an airplane or function like a regular person in anyway whatsoever.
The car will be finished soon.

Hi all,

I mentioned it for Scorpio owners as a way to have what we never had here. The real key to getting something like that over here would be to list them as repair or race parts and ship them by sea freight, I think. I have used sea freight from Japan to US for various things and it is cheap and works well.

Just a thought.

If you are going to ship the motor then just ship the whole dang car. Occasional Cosworth examples show up from time to time at reasonable cost on UK ebay.

If you recall, they passed a US law a while back allowing you to import and register cars over 30 years old without any emissions hassles.

Shipping is probably not too bad (~4k) assuming you can get to a US east coast port to pick it up. Although that bridge out in Maryland might impact the logistics.

Hi all,

It is an ad from a 'breaker' parting out a car on fleabay UK. Motor only was shown.

The import time limit for cars/bikes is actually twenty five years I believe. I have looked at old home market Japanese sport bikes and thought hard about getting one or a Suzuki Cappuccino.
