Not anyone I know, but my group of gearhead friends were sharing the story. Guy cleaned the metal with brakleen, wiped it off, then tried using an acetylene torch to get the rest off. He lived, barely. But will have severe breathing problems for the rest of his life.hEaT wrote:Did someone weld with the material still soaked in brake cleaner?Camaro5690 wrote:Yea you might end up dead if you do. I was once using brake cleaner by where someone had cleaned the floor with some acidic chemicals, did not know that I had passed out and woke up in hospital, and could not breath in or out because of the pain in my chest.

NOOOOOO! Don't take brake cleaner from me!
Mounts in the exterior spray booth!
And put in the Scorpio master cylinder in place so lines can be made.

Indeed she is!merkurdriver wrote:Coming along nicely!
Took the engine back out today to join it with the trans before it gets shoved back in.
Need to clearance the mounts a little for where the rear sump bowl droops down behind the crossmember.
For now and because I don't really have any money to spend I'm going to keep the "old" long accesories and move the mustang rad forward. I'll need to trim the center light supports but as I plan on running Mustang foxbody lamps with no center lights I don't need the supports.
I need to make brake pipes and tidy up wiring this week then hopefully get it in next weekend.
I have family stuff this weekend so no car playing.

This really is super budget, pretty much everything is either from the original Mustang or from the yard.MODEL-Turbo wrote:I am also thinking of going the way of the sbf. Yours looks great so far. The get the paperwork done with the SMOG people like it says above I'm going go see if I can make the old long accessories fit with the original Mustang rad.
Really for me it's the fact that I'm English, ive never owned a V8 and probably will never get rid of this car because it was my first car after I moved here. So the solution was simple!
