My car has fuel pressure for the first time in 2875 days. The tank went in today with a new walbro pump. A little fussy to get it in but it powered up right away and makes full pressure. I had the tank fully redone and did a lot under there. The hold up was putting the mc2racing diff mount in.

Not a big deal to most but this is a milestone for me in the whole rebuild/mod process. i still have to drop the tailhousing and install a 6 tooth speedo gear, so it's not like it can come down off the stands just yet. Front suspension needs to go in as well.

But it was a big deal for me. I'll be celebrating this evening.

Excellent. [/burns]

Swap the spindles side-for-side or, at the very least, put some silicone on the dust shield to hold it in place.

Ford put the spindles on "backwards" to convention - i.e. if anything gets between the nuts and the carriers the nuts will loosen to the point that the brake disc in the caliper is the only thing keeping your hub on the car.
Not sure about the Cossie parts you're running, but on the XR carriers there is a press-in dust shield covering the nut. It keeps any small pebbles, etc. from jamming between the nut and carrier.

Once I get a new spindle, nut and bearings/seals, and swap sides, I'll smear some silicone on those shield contact surfaces just to make sure. There are a few instances of people's wheels folding under. Luckily I stopped before the nut came all the way off (or spun into the side of the mountain); I don't want to be in that position again.

Here is an update on the fittings I've added along with the bailey header tank:

Now I've also had to change my power steering pump reservoir to accommodate the bailey tank. I had to go remote. I got the back cover off the pump and scored another remote cover from a 1.9 CVH in a 92 escort. Took the reservoir from a late model focus as it says Ford on it and is a very small footprint in the engine bay. Big nipple goes to the pump, little nipple goes to the return feed from the rack.

Good to know - I think that's the same one as used on the '87/8 TC, so it would be good to know there's one from a more recent, more commonly found vehicle.

Somebody likes their wide-angle lens I see, eh? Did you take those in semi-manual mode with the aperature set wide open?

My fishy is fast, it does macro and it's wide. Good for shooting the car. Plus it's light and small.

I always shoot in full manual mode. :)
