Matching Bilstein Yellow Color

Post by DPDISXR4Ti »

Some bits cut and pasted about matching the yellow that Bilstein uses from the factory....

"Hammerite Yellow Smooth is a very close match"

"The actual paint brand and code that we used to refurbish shock tubes is Ellis Paint Company's yellow #217. However, I could not locate any
on-line information regarding availability.

Better chance of acquiring Krylon's #1816 John Deere Yellow. Second choices are Krylon yellows #1806 or #5818.

Thanks

Michael Ritchie

"Just received news from Ellis Paint Company. They will sell Yellow #217 in spray cans, for $6.50 each. They did ask that I purchase two cans, which I agreed to do. Anyone else interested can contact Ellis Paint Company at the following number:
(323)261-8114
Ask for Sandy"

Maybe we need to start pestering Michael for some Bilstein samples/cross reference to fit our random rare applications. :)
