Check the web-site. They have a pretty thorough discussion on the accuracy testing they did.

Re: Small 3G Alternator High Amp Upgrade Kit

FYI, I stumbled across this today. The aforementioned vendor with the small case 3G upgrade now has the kit on sale for $105. https://alternatorstarterrebuildkits.com/product/3g-high-amp-upgrade-with-small-stator/ If you're committed to the Ranger passenger-side bracket designed for the small case, ...

Re: Harbor Freight Tire Changer Upgrades

That duck kit on temu.com is $47.59. I'm thinking I should get one before Trump terminates of the de minimus exclusion. It's hard to argue with that price. The centering cone used to sell for $50 all by itself! The odd part is this line.... " for Most Car Tires, Not HF Tire Changers" I th...

Re: Teves brake system problems

The Mercedes unit just looks like it might have lesser nitrogen or fluid capacity than OEM Teves (appearance could be misleading). It's likely somewhat smaller capacity. I did see a comment from another Saab 900 owner who indicated it worked well but he thought it might need re-charging a little mo...

Re: Teves brake system problems

Interesting find today as I had a chance to pull some parts from a 2005 Mercedes E350 before we cut it up at the firehouse for a drill. The Bosch ABS used on these cars has an accumulator, and go figure, it screws right in! MercedesAccumulator-1.jpg MercedesAccumulator-2.jpg MercedesAccumulator-3.jp...

Re: 88 Scorpio

Clean out the normal road crud that accumulates behind the wheel arches at the top of the rubber inner gravel protector. I agree. It's essentially impossible to keep crud out of there. If the car won't be driven in the winter, it's not that big of a deal since the crud won't be laced with evil salt...

Re: Teves brake system problems

[N.B.: Accumulator diaphragms may leak nitrogen over time. But there's no evidence available that they become "blown". Maybe collapsed is a better word? Regardless, many others and now myself have done the simple bench test and found it's easy to ID a good/bad one. It seems that the resul...

Re: Teves brake system problems

Looking at that ^^^ socket, it would appear that it's not a typical hex with all sides equal length, as a "regular" socket would be. Is that correct, or am I seeing something that's not really there? I'm wondering if any normal socket will work, regardless of size.

Re: Teves brake system problems

Indeed it would seem that the accumulator is the most common item to fail on the Teves Mark II ABS system. Some references suggest it should just be considered a "maintenance item" that is replaced every ten years. That's probably a bit extreme, especially considering that it's now a $200 ...

Re: Teves brake system problems

My Teves Data Dump... https://www.mediafire.com/file/luurozy99wt9oat/TeevesABSstuff.zip/file Quite a load of data! For a brake system that was only used for a few years, I'm surprised just how much stuff is out there for it. In some ways, that perhaps points to it not being the most trouble-free sy...

Re: Teves brake system problems

Bumping this tread with a link to a thread on the GTI forum which has some good info on the Teves Mark II... https://www.clubgti.com/forums/index.php?threads/teves-mk2-abs-system.293059/ Of note, is the low-tech bench-test of the accumulator. Basically, you're testing to see if the bladder is ruptur...
