Re: Link to 1988 Merkur XR4Ti Service Manual
I'd be interested in a digital copy of the Scorpio Service Manual if anyone has it. I am missing a few pages in my hard copy.

Re: T-9 Speedo Driven Gear
Yeah, if I needed a new gear for the T-9 Vss and could not locate then I would try designing one and 3d printing it.
It may be possible to do some machining to the inductive A4LD sensor to adapt it to the T-9. But probably a big project.
Not sure if the T-9 Vss is as unreliable as the Scorpios Vss.

Re: T-9 Speedo Driven Gear
auto transmission here, Ford parts fit? I believe our A4LD takes the same spec speedo gears as the USA A4LD, but I'm not certain. Perhaps someone can verify. I will confirm that. A4LD US = A4LD EU/UK Various alternate tooth count gears are readily available for the A4LD. Also, the speed sensor used...

Vovan, Yes, I believe it is possible to run EDIS with the standard MAP. It requires translation of the signals between EDIS and the Scorpio stock ECU.
Brad and I spoke about the possibility of this in the forum thread he mentioned.

Re: mini bikes
I still don't get this guy in the mini bike video.
A sixty plus year old guy riding a minibike around is a scene right out "Dumb and Dumber".
He needs to let it go. Buy a Harley or something. Give the minibike to the grandkids.

Re: mini bikes
That's right Ed, Growing up everybody had the basket ball hoop at the top of thier driveways. Now they are all in the street. BTW, Back in the 70's my next door neighbor was a bow hunter and he used to hang deer carcasses on the basket ball board. Those days are definitely gone. My current next door...

Re: mini bikes
The 70's were a great time to grow up in. I had a minibike back then, but I particularly don't yearn for it now.
Today the kids are riding electric mini bikes around the neighborhood and the cops don't even care.

Re: Carbon Fiber driveshafts?
Interesting, I hadn't thought of the safety aspect. Brings back a memory... 1982, Senior Week, Garden State Parkway, wee hours of the morning. Four of us are in Dan's 1968 Firebird convertible. Ram Air 400 4 speed. We are coming back from a party to our rented house. Dan decides to open it all the w...

Re: Carbon Fiber driveshafts?
Just wondering. Is the advantage of a CF driveshaft just in the reduced rotational inertia? In other words, like installing a lightened flywheel? If this is the case then I think you get a much greater advantage by just installing a lightened flywheel. The driveshaft is smaller diameter so the rotat...

Re: Adjustable Voltage Regulator
The fact that the adjustable regulator is offered up as a band aid solution to a perceived problem with the old Bosch alternator answers your question. Not to mention all the external regulator kits that guy is selling on that website. This alternator was fitted to several different vehicles in Euro...

Re: Adjustable Voltage Regulator
Just google "overcharging lead acid cells" to get your answer. But it is really not relevant to the problem - unless you take a long road trip with one of these adjustable regulators cranked all the way up. Lets say you hop into your Scorpio after it has been sitting a while. The battery i...

Re: Adjustable Voltage Regulator
I don't know if I can give you a definitive answer to that question Ed, but I don't think you are asking the right questions. Why do you feel that the stock regulator's set point voltage is incorrect? Answer me that. Why do you feel the need for the adjustable regulator? Is there the thought in the ...

Re: Modern Review of the (Granada) Scorpio 4x4
He does get one thing right in that video. Best seats Ford ever put into a vehicle IMHO. Best seats I have ever sat in any vehicle, but I'm sure there may be something high end out there that is better. He complains about the steering and handling, but its an old car and one wonders what the conditi...

Re: Adjustable Voltage Regulator
Just ask the simple questions - Why would the set point of the stock regulator be wrong in the first place? Why would this alternator need an adjustable set point when just about any other alternator does not? More voltage does not mean more current, and this alternator does not put out enough curre...
