I was just trying to figure out what was wrong with my engine harness. Never figured it out so I just replaced it with one from blugg and the car is up and running now...

So, since the car still starts, would it have anything to do with my limp mode issue? Can't get any codes at all currently, which is another problem, but part of why I'm thinking I have a break in the vref or signal return section somewhere..

Mine was doing the same thing, turned out to be a weak battery. If your battery is old, just replace it. Although, if the fuel pump didn't prime before cranking, could be a bad pump as well.

So in trying to find my electrical gremlins, the fsm is directing me to "service intermittent in NDS harness, connector, or switch." Yet I can't seem to find anything about it an any part of the manual, or any of the other books I've got. What is it, where is it, and what does it do?

Is it worth trying to find one, or should I just do without? At this point I'm willing to try just about anything to get my car back.

In looking over the manual, it keeps telling me to install the breakout box. Is that the code reader? If not, does someone know what this said breakout box is and where I can find one?

Do you have an OBD1 code reader? Do you get any codes? I would suggest that you check all the easy things first ie; wires, dist cap, TPS, IAC etc, etc Did you replace the fuel filter and remove the external pump? yes, no, not even the self test, everything was checked after first start, in line pum...
