Re: Just got a '86 Merkur

Re: Just got a '86 Merkur
They are Rapido 28.5mm, I guess going stock would only gain a little over 1 mm additional clearance.
I'd hate to grind into the new bellhousing, but an idea, I think the bellhousing wall thickness is .125" or a bit less.

Re: XR4ti T9 lay gear wanted
Got a picture of it? I have some T9 parts "laying" around, maybe there's one in there.

Re: Just got a '86 Merkur
I have another issue, the QuickTime bellhousing contacts the stabilizer bar, I was hoping once tranny angle was adjusted it'd be ok, but no, the bellhousing is not putting much pressure on the stabilizer. I'm certain I can add a spacer behind the stabilizer U brackets, likely .125" would be suf...

Re: Just got a '86 Merkur
Another setback, I just discovered today that a Hays 82-103 hydraulic throwout bearing is not compatible with a Spec SF481 clutch
The Hays bearing has a sleeve that goes past the pressure plate fingers and it can't on the Spec.
Anyone need a Hays 82-103, hit me up.

Re: Just got a '86 Merkur
TKX with V8 Quicktime bellhousing, there's ample room for a cable driven clutch, I wanted a push type external hydraulic slave... but it will not fit
Gotta take it back apart again, I'll be using a hydraulic throwout bearing.

Re: Just got a '86 Merkur
I haven't been able to find any information on a v8 clutch in a xr, so I thought I'd post some. Checking some clearances for a V8 clutch setup, I ordered the quicktime bell housing mainly because it is smaller than the aluminum ones, so I thought it might fit without modifications. I'm testing thing...

Seem like nice guys, but they just couldn't complete my order so after about 4 months of waiting I filled a complaint through PayPal and Anembo refunded my money.

Re: Got a '86 Merkur XR
Why do you need a hydraulic clutch slave cylinder for this? Or just want it that way? I have a hydraulic clutch setup and love it! I'm running the TurboCoupe hydraulic bell housing. Side note: Not sure I'd trust a hydraulic throw out bearing, I've heard some bad things, I'm leaning towards an exter...
