Re: CV Joints

Based on all that, it appears the XR shares CVs with a Porsche 930. :) Odd but it looks like some info is wrong there as I've only ever known the 930 to use the 108MM CV joints. Looks like your best non VW application for these would be the 944 Turbo in 86-88 https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turbo-a...

Re: Door ajar switches acting up.

Well now, looks like we all get to be right! Since you whipped out the documentation it made me dig a little deeper and yes, there is a door ajar switch attached to the latch. It appears that it's only purpose is to indicate on the message centre that the door is open. There is also a Courtesy Lamp ...

Re: Door ajar switches acting up.

Since the ajar switch is plastic it looks like you wouldn't be able to pull it apart to clean in but they're not that expensive.

Re: Blower Motor resistor option

That was part of why I was sceptical but it worked and I've got extras. If it fails again I'll look into other ways of affixing the fuse.

Re: Blower Motor resistor option

I just did the thermal fuse repair that's been detailed on the forum before viewtopic.php?t=13010

I was skeptical about it but damn if it didn't work and I got a bulk pack off amazon so if it fails again in the future I can just solder up another.

Re: Did you like the Wheeler Dealers XR episode?

I even like Ant as much as I liked Edd. I'll be honest here, the fall out with Edd is the big reason I stopped watching WD. However, Ant has a huge love of cars, is a big geek and has enthusiasm to spare. I got that in the Merkur episode and I liked that enthusiasm so much I'm watching through &quo...

Re: Did you like the Wheeler Dealers XR episode?

I appreciated it if only for the fact that they chose a car that is critically under represented (in North America) and treated it with respect and enthusiasm. Now I know for a fact that these things are all so far from the truth it's a little silly so I wouldn't trust the numbers or the fact that t...

Re: Image hosting...tinypic is gone...now what?

I've been a happy imgur user for a few years now although over the past year or so they've been making changes to try to capitalize on the social media trend of developing a community. The best part about Imgur is that it's free and in the 7 or so years of using them I've never had a link go dead th...

Picture in the link shows stock location no EGR. Can't tell on coatings.

Re: XR vs. Scorpio Inner Tie Rods

Since you have those out any chance you could verify the thread pitch and diameter on those? I've been looking at some drift spec tie rods from Australia but they may end up being the cockford-ollie for the you Scorpio guys who can't buy factory fresh. https://www.enjukuracing.com/products/gktech-m1...
